I'm going to disagree with you that a fetus IS a person before it has even a prayer of surviving on its own. There's a difference between killing something that's alive on its own and not giving something that COULD be alive on its own, but isn't yet, the materials and environment it needs to grow all the way.
I realize that this is a big philosophical difference between us. You will have to acknowledge here that many people who have grown fetuses/children/future people in their bodies feel this way about those potential people.
I'm saying that the woman should have power over her own body. Once there's a separate living person, you have a child. Before that, a pregnancy. (And no, I don't support 3rd trimester abortions).
All forms of birth control are imperfect. And in many states, especially if you're a teen, they're hard to get. Abstinence is fine, but to say that if a girl or woman isn't abstinent she no longer gets to be in control of her body is horrific.
