They're Avali! Here, lemme link the wiki. They're super cool alien organisms that use water as a universal biological solvent, rather than blood, and, as such, they live on much colder worlds, where ice snow essentially becomes sand and sheets of ice are basically soft bedrock.
They're about 3 or 4 feet tall when fully grown, if I recall correctly, and they are capable of limited gliding if they try hard enough.
Though if you make an OC, be sure to have other people who will also make OCs, because Avali live in pack of about 3-6 members, who are generally regarded as their siblings, and are raised together at birth. They're so interconnected, in fact, that, without them for an extended period of time, an Avali falls into a separation-induced depression, and the death of a member can cause this for quite a long time.
That being said, together, they're capable of communicating their thoughts through extremely basic movements, almost like sign language but on steroids. And they can predict what their other packmates are going to do anyway. They can almost read their mind just by looking at them.
