Is it nature or nurture? I believe that most children are born with similar abilities. What is the difference in many (not all) cases? NURTURE! Take for instance the marshmallow test. Westernized children of African descent fail the marshmallow test. Cameroonian children do better than westernized children. The marshmallow test is a indicator on how a child will do in the future. The researchers followed these kids for decades and found that those who did wait were more likely to have better SAT scores and better jobs later on in life, the researchers reported.
Now for the first time, there's a study reporting on what happens when psychologists give the marshmallow test to kids outside Western culture, specifically 4-year-old children from the ethnic group Nso in Cameroon.
