It seems to me that the Legislative Branch of government is not subservient to the Executive Branch of government. In fact they are supposed to be co-equal. So I do not see how anyone from congress ought to take orders on what can and what cannot be recorded on cameras. Furthermore, it is the duty of congress for congressional oversight on everything that they fund.
Now with that in mind, I seriously do not understand why there are so few Republicans at the border with their own camera crews. They ALL ought to be down there with their own camera crews so that the conditions can be filmed and reported to the American people.
But the fact that they are not ALL down there does not surprise me. After all, when Trump won the presidency, and while the Republicans controlled the House and the Senate, he repeated asked them for legislation to control the border. What did they do? Sit on their hands. When he asked them for funding to build the wall, what did they do? Sit on their hands.
So, yes, I agree that Republicans ought to be there, and that the Executive Branch should have no say in what is or is not recorded. But the Republicans seriously need to grow a pair and stand up to the Libs in a very strong way.
