A great aspect of the constitution is that it can be changed through an amendment process. Prohibition is the perfect example. Enough of "the people" wanted to ban alcohol for consumption the 18th amendment was passed that was binding on all states. When it obviously failed, the 21st repealed using the same process. If "the people" no longer want to have the 2nd amendment as written, it can be amended in the same fashion. They got enough people to take away booze! If "the people" favor taking away guns, repeal the 2nd amendment. Otherwise, get over yourselves and learn to deal with the real root causes of violence.
