Seriously, it does make sense. When stream ownership changes hands, it follows that the new owner should approve their own team of mods.

But if it happens because of a measly “war” it’s stupud

Resetting mods after a war also makes some sense. Lets the owners re-evaluate who they want to give power on the stream. It's more efficient than just removing the troublemaker's mods manually, because it covers every user, not just one or two.
