Sure... So basically I’ve been feeling really down for a few months, and I’ve told my closest friend about it, and I’ve been thinking I have depression. My friend agrees that I should go get help, but I’m scared to ask for help, because I’m worried my mom will say I’m too young to have depression, me being only 12. It doesn’t help that a lot of 12-year-old girls like myself fake their depression for attention. Sometimes I wonder if I’m just doing that... but then again I actually feel depressed, and I’ve had suicidal thoughts. I doubt anyone on here will believe me, because no one ever takes 12 year olds seriously, but I just thought I’d share.

Honestly I hate people who fake their depression but I believe that you genuinely are showing similarities. I’m in the same situation as you because I am very anxious all the time and I believe I have anxiety but I don’t know and I kinda wanna ask for therapy but honestly I’m scared that what happened to you will happen to you. I am around the same age as you. If you feel like you have gotten to the point where it’s getting severe you NEED to ask her and if she doesn’t believe you then explain your symptoms(yes it did take me 10 minutes to spell that) and if she still doesn’t believe you then do something visible. nothing that can hurt you of course but like start crying or something. I already have bitten my nails so much. Anyway it’ll be ok and keep us posted on how your feeling. You have an entire stream of therapeutic help for heaven’s sake.

Thanks for that. I’m sorry you’ve been feeling the way you have been, and I could help with the anxiety thing, that I know for a fact I have. When I get anxious, I often get really itchy and I scratch myself all over. I’ve had a lot of anxiety recently, (I just got my . for the first time two days ago, so that’s been stressful), and from what you say you experience, I do think you have anxiety. Those definitely seem like signs and if you feel like you need therapy, you should ask. I don’t get therapy for mine, but my parents help out a lot because my dad has some severe anxiety as well. Long story short, do what feels right for you, and thanks for the help.

Oh yeah when I’m anxious the back of my head gets so itchy and it feels like it’s on fire. My dad also has anxiety and adhd. I don’t know if I need therapy but sometimes I feel that I need a professional to talk to

Yes you may and may I ask if you are thinking of becoming a therapist or applying for an occupation in that field

I thought about being a therapist, but knowing myself I wouldn't be able to pass, I've always been a C student, preferring to read rather than working on assignments.

With that, I think most of us are in need of counselling because all of us have been through things directly, or indirectly, that had affected us. There are also past traumas that are passed on generationally. One simple example is alcohol and physical abuse; if not stopped, it becomes a generational cycle.

However, even if some of all of the children doesn't become abusers themselves, seeing violent outbursts, and experiencing neglect that have other negative effects which their children after them will likely take on. They know that the said abuses are bad but they are not told that bitterness, resentment, unforgiveness, trust issues, etc, are also bad. They are certainly not told that by their parents, and the opinion of friends and acquaintances are only that... opinions.

I would like to say that even though you believe that I look up to you and admire you and how you deal with things. The entire lgbtq stream does too. Thanks for that

I know what anxiety is like, heck I have it and if it’s out of your comfort zone think about others I know this is stupid and I’m an idiot but I wanted a room on the second story of my house because on the first one there were sounds that I thought were things they weren’t. I would constantly have thoughts about an apocalypse
And whatnot but you just have to move on realize your ok but the feeling won’t go away you almost always feel like your in danger and you can’t get rid of that thought and this is totally off topic isn’t it but the thing is kinda accept that if it happens it happens

Lol things out of my comfort zone. That’s my entire life right now. I’m doing theater over zoom, I’m taking math that is 2 grades ahead and I decided to get my crushes number.

I feel that exactly as well, and I am very similar in age. You should tell your mom "maybe I don't maybe I do I just want to take a look after all it's my body/mind we are talking about". I hope that helps
