Artiles paid Alexis RODRIGUEZ to run as a sham 'Independent' senatorial candidate in the 2020 election to confuse and draw away votes from the incumbent Democrat senator - Jose Javier RODRIGUEZ - to better leverage the Republican candidate's chances of winning. It worked... the GOP candidate won the race with just 32 votes over the incumbent Dem, who had 6,000 votes that would normally have gone to him, be cast to the sham candidate that possessed the same last name.
