I spent 4 months working with orphan street kids in Jamaica. I grew up hearing about how "all men are created equal in the eyes of God" and I lived it. "I want to be like Mike!" was chanted by every white kid I grew up with as they dribbled in for a lay-up, sticking out their tongue like the great Michael Jordan would. We didn't even think about the color of his skin. Now, people shove racism in my face and say it is my fault. That is BS and I will not stand for it.
Now that American culture has rejected God, it must reject that teaching from the "religion of white supremacy." I don't believe that we can end racism by promoting another type of racism. I can change me, and only me. Beyond that my actions speak for themselves and are seen by others. Others can change if they like what they see in me. If one chooses to see racism, one will see racism. I choose to see determination and innovation.
The BLM movement, as you have demonstrated, is shaming, guilting, condemning, and blaming others. This solves nothing. Where will it stop?
Using the slogan, "Be less white" is not only racist, it is offensive. What if it was, "Be less black"? Why do you think that would be wrong if "be less white" is fine? It is hypocritical, intolerant, and racist to promote such a message.
The movement of MLK Jr. is something I fully support. The BLM movement as started in 2013 when Obama was president has become politically derailed and is now so far from MLK Jr.'s message, any sensible black American will agree with me. For example, I have never heard a black American say "showing work in math is too difficult for me because I'm black" but BLM says this. Look at Oregon. MLK Jr. would be ashamed, appalled, and frankly disgusted with the BLM "crybabies." To assume cognition is based on the color of skin is wrong. It is wrong for whites, just as it is wrong for blacks. To point the "systemic finger of blame" at others while ignoring the opportunities, responsibilities, and rights of blacks is a discredit to: Richard Allen, Robert Abbott, Frederick Douglass, Booker T. Washington, Alvin Ailey, Martin Luther King Jr., Benjamin O. Davis Sr, Jean-Michel Basquiat, James Baldwin, Ella Baker, Jesse Owens, Thurgood Marshall, Shirley Chisholm, Maya Angelou, Muhammad Ali, Sidney Poitier, Jesse Jackson, Michael Jordan, Stevie Wonder, Oprah Winfrey, Barack Obama, and Kamila Harris. Systemic racism is a fiction perpetuating racism.
