A Golden Opportunity to Rethink

REASON FOR THE PRONUNCIATION CHANGE:

HISTORICALLY, it WAS pronounced "Your ANUS". In the 1970's a very popular sketch comedy group Ace Trucking Company did a skit about the "Your ANUS" pronunciation, and the joke caught on on college campuses.

The result was that astronomers started using the "URINE us" pronunciation.

Although I've heard the new pronunciation for DECADES, I've never seen ANYONE realize the words it splits into. I have a feeling they didn't realize the implications in the meme title here. (... "golden showers" ...)

I just call the planet by the original form of its name, Ouranos.

Re "soak" in ... It's actually a SEX joke.

Google "golden showers" and you'll see why I titled it "Golden Opportunity", tagged it "fetish" and NSFW and how "soak" fit in ... and also why the scientists and the general public didn't realize the implications of the "URINE us" pronunciation.

If they want to avoid THIS pronunciation they probably need something like "YOU'RE a NUSS", where "nuss" rhymes with "puss".

And NOT "YOU'RE a NOOSE"--which would have RACIST implications ...
