The "banning" that people are getting excited about is the publishing house deciding to stop issuing several old titles. You'll have to send me the youtube link you found. My guess is that the "burning" is a hyperbolic description of the real thing, or, maybe those nut jobs who were burning masks as a protest have moved on to burning books.
