Her mental position puts her in a very unique place. Most people would go into shock after witnessing the violence that she enjoys. To put it simply, she's such a sadist that pain doesn't register or have the same effect on the body that it normally would. There's a reason she just stood there and laughed as she was killed. The familiarization with pain and violence would have allowed her to become a very formidable footsoldier, being able to keep fighting long, long after she was dealt mortal injury. Something like those zombies that get shot six times in movies and then get back up and keep killing people, except she's a living human in complete control of her body.
But Osu, it's an anime you say. Every character just stands there with limbs missing and broken. It's... inspiring okay? Fair point, but Cathy is the only one in the show with a legitimate /reason/ to be that way.
