hey actually, the republican party wasn't all rainbows and unicorns back then. after slaves were freed, americans wanted them to go back to africa, especially republicans.
Our history with our black citizens has been one of on going racism long after the civil war. The interstate system was designed to go through the middle of affluent black neighborhoods is just another example.

Trust me, we're not all Republicans. But we're not Democrats either.
The righties keep bringing up that Republicans freed the slaves; Well surely they studied history and know about the parties flipping because of the civil rights act and then Nixon’s southern strategy; They can only regurgitate talking points!
