I've always loved the concept of coming up with new names if you choose to switch your gender, or switching your name in general lol (sorry I don't know much on this 'name kind of stuff':< )

And i do too. My friend chose the name Argo (out of Gargoyle) not knowing there was a Greek ship (they love greek mythology) called Argo with a crew member named Castor (they have a Fursona named Castor)

It's ok. We all were at some point. I mean, I specifically posted this as a meme so it doesn't sound like I'm angry at you or something. But usually people choose a new name because they hated their deadname or it reminds them of being viewed as someone they are not. For many people it can be very stressful or traumatic to be called by their deadname or reminded of it. I absolutely get your curiosity but I usually go by the rule that I wait for them to tell me their deadname if they want to because I can't judge how much of a stresser it is for them and even if only one person is offended by being asked I'd rather not know someone's deadname than risk offending that one person. I'm sorry that this sounds like I'm telling you how to behave - that's not my intention. I just want to explain why some people might not want to answer that question. 😉 We're all constantly learning.

Ok thanks this was just the first time someone mentioned a deadname to me. I think I’m friends with a trans person (idk I think they deleted the account) and my cousin’s aunt is trans but it’s still kinda confusing. Genders are just really confusing.

Yeah, genders are definitely confusing... I still don't quite get why we have the concept of gender anyway. Yes, there are different biological sexes but why should that mean we have different roles in society? People are different in so many ways and that's just one of them. I'm pretty sure that if we weren't squeezed into society's little boxes a lot of people would have much less trouble with depression and dysphoria. But all we can do is just deal with the world we were given...

So, it IS about the movie... I was expecting an explanation along the lines of "Nemo is Latin for 'nobody' and that's how I feel a lot" which I sympathize with highly. But I guess your story is less sad, so that's a good thing. 😅🙈
