If one group of people is given priority and treated as the default and another group has to complain and fight to get access to the same stuff as the group that are given priority, it's going to make the group that has to complain and fight look like the kind of people that always complain and fight.

The issue is not with the group that is complaining but the society that decides to prioritize the needs of some over the needs of others.
