" Cool! Have you met my friend January? She should be here any minute. "

" Ok." June said, as January walked up.

"Hi"

" Hi, i'm January."

"Im Sam"

" Wanna try?"

"Sure"

June put the inflated duck float in the pool and sat in it. " Hehe."

Sam smiles and slides back under the water

She hid by the duck.

she gets up and swims back to the edge

" Yeah. " June and January said.

she starts walking off

" Nice. " June said, looking down.

"whats wrong?"

June and January did the same.

she goes to the sign in sheet and writes everyones names down "good thing no one else was here"

She splashed her before going back underwater.

she ducks

She caught up with her.

she maintins the speed for a while

She came up for air.

" Well, i've been skateboarding since i was seven."

"that makes sence" continues gaining speed

" Hmm, what do we do now?"

"wanna go for a swim?" she smiles

" Not yet!" she said, splashing Sam before ducking back under water.

she tracks her again

" Fine, you win."

" I'll take you to the spot while January gets her skateboard." June says.

"ok" she smiles and goes with her

" I don't know. It's deep enough for ducks. "

"ok." she walks up to it

June led Sam to the park. " Now this part is super secret." She said, walking to a wall of Ivy. She walked in.

"wow" she follows

On the other side of the wall was a hangout. There was a fort with lights in one corner, and a tiny pond in the other. There was Ivy surrounding each and every side. In the front was a road that turned into a tiny hill. " Ta-da! We used a apple battery for those lights over there." June said.

she whistles. "never seen anything like that before"

January walked back up. " I kinda want to scream at kids now..."

she laughs "sounds fun dosnt it"

June got back on the duck, and January splashed Sam.

she arches her eyebrows "do you want this?"

January rode down the zipline. " Wo-hooo"

"how do you stay up here and no ones noticed?"

June looked for a bit before she found something. " Zip line!" She said, zip-lining down.

"nice"

" Yeah, that should be step one of what we do next."

she starts walking up the hill

She ducked under water

January caught up to Sam.

she swerves toward January but breaks away at the last second

" Ok. Set up your boards and ill count down." June said.

January stared going down, catching up with Sam.

Once they get there "I dont actually live around here, sooooo" she scales the fence in a single second

" Wanna have a race? I can get my skateboard real quick. " January said. " Ooo, plus I know a good spot." June said.

"ok sounds fun"

June went to the duck pond.

she follows

" Hey!" June said, grabbing on to the duck.

she laughs and goes back to the edge

" Yeah." January said.

"I hhave a twin. hes super sweet and kind"

she goes to one of the tables and sits down

January tied it again.

"there you are" she skims her foot across the water, splashing her

She stayed under as long as she could.

" So, Sam won." June said, getting to the bottom.

They reached the top.

"This place is really nice"

"im gonna go back up the hill"

" Well i don't even know how to swim. " June said.

"oh." she dives below the surface

" 3, 2, 1, go!" June said, starting the race.

she fires off

" This is our hideout. January found it once when she skateboarded into the ivy."

January walked in. " Ready?"

"yeah"

" Yeah, my dad never took me to the pool. " June said, looking around for something to float on.

she sits on the edge of the pool

She shrugged. " I'm just mad the cops didnt arrest him."

"yeah . . ."

" Yeah. January should be back soon." June said, walking to the pond.

"ok. how deep is that?"

There was a glitter trail behind the skateboard.

"that is really cool"

" No one dares go in the ivy. Some kids say it's haunted, and some people say the screams are of dead kids. "

"do you scream to scare away kids?"

" Ooo."

"Yeah."

She stayed underwater.

June was at the top. " I was the referee."

January got in the pool, and June dipped her feet in.

" Gah!" January said, almost knocking June off the duck. " Hey!"

She stayed under water.

"you have to come up for air some time"

January tied it.

she gets one last lead

She came up but ducked quickly.

she continues patrolling but watches where she goes

January did the same. " Everyone ready?" June asked.

She handed Sam the skateboard.

" Since we were like, five." June said.

They were tied.

she keeps it up for a while before pulling ahead slightly

" I had a sister, but my dad hit her with a car." June said quietly.

"oh Im so sorry . . ."

She ducked back under.

she grabs a squrt gun and aims it

" So, where are we gonna swim?"

"Theres a nice pool in a nearby neighborhood"

" Ready."

starts skating down the street

" Yeah."

"How long have you known each other?"

June shielded her face for the splash.

"Its been to long since Ive done this" she does laps around the pool

" Hehe." January said, going under water.

she stands up up and jumps into the water at the place she sees January

" Oh, by the way, my friend Ashton put a glitter thing at the end. When you ride, glitter comes out. Its awesome." June said.

"Oh yeah thats cool"

" Nice name."

" Yeah." January said.

June found one. " Oooo."

Sam backflips in the pool

" Do you know how to skateboard?" June asked, taking out her skateboard.

"I think so, but its been a while"

she comes up and overturns Junes duck "Haha! I win"

January started getting a lead.

"That usually works . . ." she speeds up

" This one is George." She said, pointing to a particularly chubby duck.

January was right behind her.
