In short, Dust fell in love with the princess of this kingdom, her father got mad, etc, etc.
Dust killed the King and he and the princess overthrew the old monarchy and established a new one, crowning themselves King and Queen. Me and his other friends assisted them along the way as well.

I met Adam and Red awhile back when they were trying to kill Dust for going psychopathic. His current girlfriend assisted in the attempt. I know, it's ironic.

*he shows him the spare ring, which seems to be missing its crystal*

My ring can capture the Knightmares, and I did that to protect you last time...
