I think the general trajectory would be the same, the Democrat Party in general has been trending to more socialist and left leaning doctrines and away from moderate views. Yang would have been more tactful and believable. I thought Yang was more oriented to results than process, Biden is all process.
The most glaring example is one of his first Executive Orders, the agenda is to eliminate oil and gas (which won't happen because oil and gas do far more than power cars and heat houses) the symbol was the Keystone XL pipeline (which is 95% built already) and then he jammed his foot up his own ass after saying for years he always stood for the little guy while instantly crushing 11,000 little guys, unemployed just to signal to anti-oil voters. He could have reduced oil and gas in a meaningful way without crushing those little guys and everyone who earned a living off their income- store clerks, school teachers, home builders, mechanics, etc (the complete economy).
The biggest mistake the Biden Administration is making is the dictator style use of Executive Orders with input from so few viewpoints instead of using the legislative process considering numerous viewpoints to move his agenda.
