Exactly...I love Disney, don't get me wrong, but they seriously need to stop with these lousy decisions. It's ludicrous.

No...I love Disney. I'm keeping my Disney+ subscription. I just refused to pay to watch the new Mulan because it was made in the same province (with specific thanks in the credits, mind you) as these wretched concentration camps.

Disney isn't dumb...unsubscribing proves nothing. Boycotting a single specific movie with its own revenue stream (you had to pay to see it, after all) does.

So my question to you is, where do YOU stand? Do you think I'm being fair here?

The film was hurting because of the pandemic anyway. Mulan is on Disney + without having to pay extra to see it now so... It's ok. Didn't love it. Didn't hate it. I could boycott China and Disney for many reasons but what can I say? I'm a Star Wars and Marvel fan so.... <shrugs>

And I'm not trying to judge you here...I'm just wondering why you seemingly came at me for boycotting an individual movie that to me condoned (by its geographical location for production and thanks to high-level CCP officials in that area) the Uighur extermination campaign.

Not you so much as the original meme. I've been mad at China for decades for their genocide of Tibetans. They're going after Muslims which is a religious group that Trump himself has been targeting for some time in his campaigns. If you're upset about people doing business with China, why stop at the one film? Why not boycott everyone who does business with China? It's an exhausting list, I know, including Apple, Trump and Ivanka products, and just about anything that's mass produced. I hate the fact that they pay their factory workers $8/ a day but American corporations love it. What can I do? There's just too many to boycott at this point. Everything it seems is made in China and has been for a really long time.

Well you've actually hit the nail on the head; it is too exhausting to boycott everything that originates in China, but this was a high-profile movie that explicitly thanked the officials responsible for the horrors in Xinjiang Province. It was easy to boycott and plenty of people did so.

I don't have a problem with all Chinese businesses, though I genuinely prefer to buy American or European...I have a problem with the CCP. This was a small way to hit back.
