We're not going to destroy trumpism if we don't give those who realize their mistake an offramp back into civilized society.

Everybody makes mistakes. One of the goals of the justice system is reformation. Nothing wrong with that as long as the lessons are truly learned, society is repaid and it's not just lip-service.
