All the guns they get in those shootings are illegal

Incorrect. Most of the guns are legally bought or have been stolen from parents who don't know what gun safety is

Stealing from parents, yes. Bought legally? No. Criminals buy guns illegally

But people who have a clean record but want to buy a gun for a crime buy guns legally, not to mention the fact that the database is very outdated, so someone with an arrest record can buy a gun legally

If someone wants to commit a crime with a gun, they want to buy an illegal system so the gun doesn’t get traced back to them

Well, actually, the majority of people who commit mass shootings kill themselves, or attempt to do so

I’m not talking about shootings, but if you do, then the people who commit them still get the gun illegally

Often, they don't. They pass the checks because they don't have any kind of criminal record. Meanwhile, the people who just want to kill people are either psychopaths and don't care if they are caught, or are gang bosses and are pretty much safe from the police
