If you're brave, go in any public toilet on the French auto routes system - They have a hole in the floor.
So bad is it, that people shit all around the outside of the building - True story !

I have heard stuff like that because people from 3rd world countries don't know how to use a toilet so they just leave a hole.

Not at all, more people visit France than they do the US. I know Germany does the same thing.

I driven in both France and Germany and this is my assessment:
On the German autobahns, they have rest places - All of them were spotlessly clean, neat and tidy.
Every rest place I pulled into in the south of France, without exception, were vomit inducing and disgusting !
