We run on hydrogen. Like cars... and bombs-

They run on hydrogen and oxygen to produce electricity, which runs a motor. If your talking about the cars.
But for humans, we run on multiple different things, if we had no oxygen, then we would run on our backup resources. Such as adrenaline.

The sun runs on hydrogen, therefore, everything runs on hydrogen.

If the core of the sun, ran out, which is hydrogen. Then there be a gathering of helium, and that will fuse into more elements, like oxygen and carbon.
