Oh, the TikTok haters will always be there, but once the hype around TikTok is over, they'll puke upon something else with the same passion and the same hatred, and then we name them after the hype they puke on then...
When it comes to climate change, there is a bit of a shady part. Science is most of all research after the unknown. The times the poles melted did have results to the world that would be catastrophic at the present days. However the discussion has more gone into politics rather than science, and then we got a very evil rob. In every field of science you come to a point you gotta re-invent the wheel since you know nothing. Global Warming is such a case. Then it's inevitable you get will get on a wrong track at the start, however these wrong tracks will eventually lead to the right track. I see that every day with my work as a coder. Difference is, my coding work is not in the news all the time, so I can admit my failed work and see how they lead to the better solutions. Climate change, and COVID19 too,and well, many cases, are such subjects so broad in the news that admitting you were on the wrong track will get you to lose credibility and KABOOM, your research will be deemed useless, so they must keep on the lie they were right all along even when reality shows differently. Global Warming is a problem, but yes, a lot of things did not seem right, and they couldn't be from the start. If there was less political pressure on that and less media attention, perhaps they could have made more progress, but at the same time, the disasters that could come are kinda big. The forest fires in Australia for example... Yes, arson was the start, but arson alone could not make it that big, it was there that global warming effects took it over.
Science is sometimes a vague field... Something things are fully proven and not open for discussion anymore as the evidence is irrefutable, as the law of the communicating vessels for example, but there's also a lot that is vague and can often turn out differently... And yeah, when it comes to global warming... we have several of such cases, but admitting they are in the dark, is not a story that would do well in the media, is it?
