It's true that groups do tend to pull together and put other differences aside when faced with an external threat -- That's human nature. The trick is to recognize that what unites us is greater than what divides us even after the threat has passed.
I wouldn't say we're "at each others' throats" -- that's too pessimistic -- just having a normal election with normal amounts of mudslinging
Make no mistake, the stream is better with them gone. And I won't be running a scorched-earth campaign against you, you're not offensive enough :)
