English: What a wonderfully interesting and easy to understand language :~)

In mijn eigen taal kan je ook beide varianten zien
(In my own language you can also see both variants)

Now funny note "ie" and "ei" are pronounced differently in Dutch, but "ei" and "ij" are pronounced the same... I guess every languages has its oddities. ;)

Yeah. Well at least Dutch is overall pretty much phonetic and English is not.
You really don't want to know how many English words I mispronounced until I heard a native speaker say them correctly.

At least you try - and I always appreciated that with my Dutch (and other European) customers.
As for the written word, I found Google Translate works very well. :~)

Google Translate is so far one of the best translation tools I found, but far from flawless... I've once tried a page of one of my Dutch novels in it in order to see what would come out... I am not quite sure if I should laugh or cry about that translation to be honest. Of course, the Dutch I use for novels differs from my Dutch in every day speech, as in everyday speech you normally use short and simple sentences, in a novel you try to find the most beautiful kinds of wording to make the picture clear for your readers and that's not really comparable. One of the reasons I don't wanna translate my own work myself.... Now since English and Dutch are pretty close to each other it may work nicely in many cases, but I've really seen some translations that hardly made sense to me and about which I really had to check the original text...

Over the years, I taught myself to search auction sites in Japan (In Japanese !) It really isn't nearly as difficult as it seems - I'm not searching in sentences - I search by each word in images

Well, when it comes to searches, then keywords often work best, I guess...
