Certainly, most social media flourishes because people want to hear that they are inherently good. But, allowing people to have a platform, is not the same as coalescing them into a cult. Social Media is not an extension of the government. It is simply a place for people to opine about the government, among other subjects. Unfortunately, the most powerful person in our government tried to use it to extend his power in negative ways. Social media should not become a tool for those who will use the mechanisms of communication to form and reinforce cults.
