"You can storm into the kitchen! Look it up, libtards!!" *proceeds to commit treason*

"You can storm into the kitchen! Look it up, libtards!!" *proceeds to commit treason* | Ryan also downplayed the inflammatory language she used in her social media posts on the day of the Capitol breach. In a video shot before she headed to the building, Ryan said, "We're going to go down and storm the Capitol."; "If you look up the term 'storm,' you can storm in the kitchen. You can storm in and say, 'No more,'" she said. "I'm not storming in to kill people. What I meant, life or death, is if someone kills me, I will stand for my truth, even if someone kills me."; In the interview, she said she wasn't suggesting an act of aggression. | image tagged in jenna ryan, rioters, riot, maga, conservative logic, capitol hill | made w/ Imgflip meme maker

What she failed to mention: the word "storm" is strongly associated with the QAnon conspiracy.

So, yeah. Poor choice of words, dear.

There is actually something remarkable going on here and that is none of these people have demonstrated the courage of their convictions.

They’ve screamed MAGA for the last four years and whipped themselves up into a frenzy to the point where they actually think they’re going to accomplish something of note by taking over Capitol Hill, but when the chips are down and Trump turns his back on them because they’re a disorganized mess, all of a sudden they didn’t mean to do what they did, they didn’t say what they said, they weren’t trying to spark a revolution, etc, etc, etc.

The way I see it, the whole bogus QAnon movement was perpetuated by a bunch of spineless jellyfish.

Jan. 6 was a nightmare and it certainly was frequented by hardcore elements that were prepared to capture or kill any congresspeople they could get their hands on, but the majority like this dumb bitch were probably LARPing.

I’m a bit pleasantly surprised how they kind of melted away when there were supposed to be worse protests and violence Jan. 17-20 throughout all 50 states. Some combination of the social media crackdown, the law enforcement crackdown, Trump’s own aura of invincibility being dented, and perhaps just waking up to the fact this shit is real, not a game.

As an Atlantic article I’ve been linking recently argues, Trump’s presidency and the lack of accountability fostered a “Lol nothing matters” attitude on the right.

Once the consequences started hitting, they responded accordingly.

Funny how that works, huh?

The past 4 years have taught us it really does all start at the top and to not take decent, plodding Obama-esque leadership for granted. Hopefully, Trump’s most lasting legacy to the country will be a long-term Democratic majority at the national level. Political memories in this country are too short, but hopefully the uniquely appalling nature of the Trumpster fire presidency leaves a lasting impression. I know it will for me.
