The issue right now isn't whether he'll be tried or not, or even who is right. There's a bigger problem, one which I don't even have the mental strength to face...They've made Trump a martyr. All they had to do was let the courts go through all the evidence, let the process work and whoever would have come out as the victor would have taken office and it'd be finished. But they had to keep on throwing fuel on to the flame. Now none of them is going to get anything, they've made something worse and they are still fanning the flame. Now we've got two religions and none wants to back down.

Trump is nobody's martyr. Trump's fans were a bunch of overly zealous weirdos before he got into politics, and they'll still be a bunch of overly zealous weirdos after he's done with politics, doesn't really matter to them who's at the figurehead of their nonsense. Stamps and documents can be drafted and sealed stating that a person now holds authority, but if there's even a shred of doubt, that'll be a problem. The court's main purpose is to end a cycle of revenge and to provide fairness so people don't start a cycle of revenge. The moment people believe their own courts are not fair, regardless of the evidence, they will take justice in to their own hands. That's why the term Mob justice exists and man if it gets to that point, all evidence regardless of sides, is useless. The mob will believe what the mob believes is truth based on their own truth.
