Depends on the situation.

Self defense, open area: longsword
Self defense, closed-in area: dagger
Battle, open area: halberd
Battle, closed area: spear

Of course, a quarterstaff will also prove it's worth in these situations, though it's not idealized for any one of them.

I always cringe in movies when a main character slices through a minion with full-body armor like it's nothing.

I know, right? It's as if their armor is made of tin-plated dirt!

Which weapon would use as an anti-armor?

Halberd, definitely. Long reach, armor-crushing and shield-hooking axe on one side of the head, armor-piercing warhammer on the other, and a spear head on the top.
