I think you're confusing a tyrannical government with socialism. A government can be tyrannical without being socialist but a socialist government cannot exist without being tyrannical.
so all the entitlements have nothing to do with socialism ..more to do with capitalism? I don't think so...big country...Democrat states ARE on socialist time zone...
