True, it doesn't. I'd say the mixed parties in the UK is a good example of that. They have like what, 5? 6 different political parties being represented?
Unfortunately when your parties get big enough they tend to swallow the constituents of lesser parties until your left with just one party and it's rival. Been that way for god knows how long in the US.
