Cognitive dissonance

You got the second one wrong. You see, if they left their own country because ours is better, then they should stop trying to "fix" our country because clearly they have no idea how a country is run well.

The two do not contradict one another at all.

Then why is brother-f—ker Ilhan Omar in Congress & telling us how to run our country, which is better than hers in every imaginable way?

Plus, she immigrated with her parents as a child, so no shit she wouldn't be able to fix her own go***mn country. AND her policies are objectively superior to what the US right now.

1. No immigrant from Mexico or Central America is coming here because they have a better plan to fix the US, but because they're fleeing from turmoil back in their home country. However, they do provide massive economic benefits to the US, which is a consensus reached by the vast majority of economists.

2. They cannot meaningfully "fix" their own country considering how most of the problems there are caused DIRECTLY by US policy, whether that be the disastrous drug war or the fascist coups that the US implemented in Central America. The US caused the refugee crisis and now it's clutching its pearls when refugees come to the US.
