Here's what my family did: every family unit (each individual family) isolated for two weeks before Christmas. We all got together on Christmas day and had a great time (no masks, etc).
Obviously if any of us weren't feeling well we wouldn't have come (Thanksgiving dinner was cancelled for that reason, actually), but once we knew we were healthy we took social distancing, masks, etc and kicked them to the curb.
I'm not saying you're wrong or anything, just that everyone has their own risk levels they're willing to accept, and applying your own to others is asinine.
