Maybe they are not wrong because in certain U.S. states, Canada, Japan and European nations those places do have mask mandates yet covid cases are still skyrocketing, it really looks like covid spreads in public whether people wear masks or not and masks are effective in controlled environments such as labs and hospitals but not in general public spaces. The reason why I question masks is because I look at the empirical data in real-life and not what mainstream media narratives tell people how to think. In the year 1984 Dr. Barry Marshall discovered that stomach ulcers are caused by bacterial infections, it was a common belief that ulcers were caused by excess stomach acid, stress and eating spicy foods so people including the medical experts arrogantly dismissed him as "crazy" but he was later proven right and even won a noble prize. Mask mandates yet a huge majority of the citizens not following protocol. Something isn't going to work when we all need to do it and there's grown adults crying about it.
