Yeah the one I told first was one of my close friends, we were talking about lgbtq related stuff (because they are pan and non-binary) and I was like:
'Hey inner brain how about we tell them we're Gay' and I was like:
'... ... ... *send*'
Not joking my heart literally started pounding and I was shaking until they replied with supportive stuff, I then told my other friends, I got more support, I made a Scratch Project about it and published it, more support, but I still need to wait for a moment to tell my family. So far so good for me

Here's a question I wish to respectfully ask: Do you consider it homophobic if a Catholic (or similar Christian) fully supports the LGBTQ+ community when it comes to equal rights under the law (civil marriage, tax status, etc), but asks that they in turn respect the Catholic's right to disagree with them on matter such as marriage within a religion?

Legally, it's all protected under the First Amendment of course, but I'm just fishing for answers here. Again, props to you for speaking how you feel, if only everyone was that brave!

It kinda depends on the person to me, I would be okay with it as long as they weren't being really rude about it, and that they actually support the community as well. And also thanks :)

I can't speak for all religions, but with regards to my Catholic Faith here's our official stance: We have our rules for folks within our religion, but those rules obviously do not apply outside of our religion, so we have no moral or logical basis to try and force our will in the 'secular' world. This means we fully support your having equal civil rights as everyone else. That includes civil unions (government marriage licenses), equal rights in public areas, freedom from discrimination in public, etc.

Wow. I'm sorry for calling you sus, your smart enough to know that people can't force their religion onto other people (unlike Karens) and I respect that. I'm also like that in real life, so we're kinda similar.
