I think that's the point, they really don't want to decrease poverty or crime. When they talk about it, it's just that, all talk.
Supporting Wall Street & Hollywood (& the MSM, if I may throw them in there too) is where they spend their real effort & time. It's an investment that pays big dividends in campaign contributions, good and free publicity for them, and free and negative attacks on Republicans.
