This is the original Drymark Parasite. Named after the mining planet, Drymark, It has spread very slowly across the galaxy due to it's poor biology. It infects a host via going though the ear, which is covered in wax and it might not find the brain before dying. If it does reach the brain, it's legs begin to expand and cover the brain, controlling the host, however, this kills the host the moment it's controlled and the parasite controls a decaying corpse. After a few days, it has to leave the decayed host to find another host and the cycle continues until it gets to lay it's eggs in a dry and or arid environment. This makes the species slow the expand, and it's gestation period is also very slow, it takes 3 years for one Drymark to hatch.

But this all avoid by Parasite 6-77: It can calculate where the quickest and easiest spot to get to the brain is, it put's it's host into unconsciousness rather than killing them, it has more access to more parts of the brain allowing for emotion, it can access memories, it can talk like a normal human, rather than a zombie, and it can survive and lay eggs in any environment, rather than arid and dry environments. But the gestation is about 2 years shorter, which means that the Drymark will spread faster. But none of it's spawn is able to share the same features as it.
