I have horribly sprained my thumb before, (on the verge of breaking it) and it was internally bleeding. It turned purple. I was silent, but of course I shed a tear. I didn't yell at any time during the injury.

Uh oh. Well, you can lie and say you're the strong silent type, I guess. I have high pain tolerance, but the couple times I've been really hurt, I was pretty loud, pretty quick.
