Probably because she died—and it’s hard to put the movie in the limelight without shedding light on the tragedy. Just a theory. That, and technology has advanced so much, younger people would suffer if they tried to watch the original version. Even the color version is pretty degraded in quality compared to the screen resolutions and sound quality of today. It would be like playing Burger Time on a ColecoVision. 😀
