I think the way they are hiding their aggression behind Christ is just wrong. The thing about arguing with a cancer patient doesn't mean much in terms of who's right, though.

Agree! I'm an atheist but I empathize. This situation especially reminds me of the phrase "using the Lord's name in vain".

I only approved this to see if it encouraged respectful discussion, throwing labels out right off the bat isn't respectful.

I was an outside observer and saw this shared (it was shared 5 times last I checked). There's nothing respectful about this guy belittling and bullying a cancer patient to defend his opinion under the pretense of spreading Jesus's love? (I didn't include the rest of the conversation bc it would've been too off topic to include in the image. There were 32 comments last I checked, none positive.
Next question in regards to that then- to what lengths would you go to defend your opinions when other people start calling you ignorant or stuff like that? Or share your post on social media? Do you concede, fight, or steer towards constructive debate?

Constructive debate is always the way to go no matter the circumstance. Having an open mind to another's situation and experiences even if you think they are wrong will get you farther than name calling or fighting. The only time you should give up is if the conversation is going no where and both sides are just bickering.

Agree! Thanks.
I stayed away from this mostly because he was just fighting anyone who commented and I actually pulled the quote from one of the shares (the quote in question, which got me thinking about it in the first place)
