Can you see the skull?
I’d heard people calling the Rosette Nebula the Skull Nebula for ages but I really couldn’t see it, until one day I was processing it and rotating the field of view to see which orientation I liked and all of a sudden there it was
My image here shows the skull orientation, the central hollow in the O3 region being the skulls left eye. The right one being off to the left of this image with the Ha red arch in the centre being the bridge of the nose, the lines along the right then look like the lines that can often be seen in human skulls, it’s hard not to see the skull once you’ve seen it
9x600s stacked in DSS with full calibration. Processed in Photoshop 2020
