Is that not the case for every generation? Don't they all start poor and as they get older they get wealthier, even more so than the generation before them.

Previous generations didn’t have to deal with two big recessions and a f**king plague by the time they entered their thirties.

Isn’t choosing a high rent home a bad spending habit?

well if you could, you would want to be in a somewhat nice area instead of a crappy area right? and if you live in california, your going to have a hard time finding something cheap and nice, so they are broke in a somewhat nice area, also why california has one of the largest homeless populations in the nation.

All those California problems are a result of left wing policies. The insane welfare they provide keeps giving checks to the homeless and de incentivizes more to work at all, so the homeless population keeps growing. It also means the working class are hit with a 13% income tax. The taxes are ridiculously high in order to pay their precious social benefits, which makes cost of living crazy high, so now 22% of Californians are below the poverty line. In contrast, Texas has no income tax at all, little welfare, and a 13% poverty rate.

Oh and the high rent is a direct consequence of raising minimum wage. Seattle is a perfect example of that.

I would imagine this person is comparing minimum wage to the average rent when they could be comparing the average wage to the average rent or vice versa.

Give me an example.

This surprised me almost as much as the time I read a study asserting that being born rich is better than being born a hard worker. I almost fainted in pure shock.
