When I first saw this I thought perhaps Mike Pompeo negotiated with Trump. something like this

Pompeo: Donald, we can’t strike Iran, it would cause an international crisis.
Trump: but Mike, I think it’s a good idea with this intelligence about Iran’s nuclear advancements. I’ll show them, you don’t mess with Me!
Pompeo: look Donald, it would be far more devastating to Iran if we took out they’re chief nuclear scientist. You would be eliminating the problem.
Trump: I don’t believe in science Mike, I like bombs! Big ones , that go boom, believe me.
Pompeo: but you’ll be the hero Donald, like those flags you’re supporters wave!
