I'm an emotional "soft" man myself. I have my anger and have had it for as long as I can remember and I'm not proud of it. It takes more courage for a man to shed a year vs break a hole in the wall. Anger, for me, often leads to embarrassment and regret more so than anything "good" like emotional release or closure. but I make an effort, not a perfect one, but an effort, to tap into my "feminine side" (everyone has one) I.e. traits traditionally attributed to women like empathy, compassion, etc....
I think we also need to start moving away from thinking about these things from a gendered perspective, instead towards a more neutral/objective one (so evaluating things like personality traits, emotions, values, etc...for their indiv merits vs being appropriately "girly" or "manly"...sorry I'm rambling again and I know when I ramble I tend to induce headaches...
