Different people see different ads based on location and whatnot, just like most websites you visit. We just use a 3rd party for ads, we don't sell ad space to each of these advertisers directly.
Is it mainly the type of ads you don't like, or is it anything else about the ads? We are generally extremely light on ads compared to most websites because they can really mess up the user experience. You can disable them entirely with Pro or Pro Basic.
