It's just like Italian calamari (squid rings) or German blood sausage or Scottish haggis (u don't wanna know!) Every culture has a bunch of shitty foods they only eat cause their parents did. And of course it all gets started by what foods and flavors were available in olden days...

And we have nothing irregular.

I have stupidity awful food in my culture. Mud bugs (crawfish,) water centipedes (shrimp,) organ meat (liver and heart,) pork stomach (hog maul,) and the list goes on. That was my point: everyone eats crazy stuff and just doesn't know it...
