Purdy map, i'nnt it? (Current as of 11/12/20) | image tagged in election 2020,2020 elections | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
My contention that Joe Biden won the election is based on the millions of tabulated votes across 50 states represented in this map.

Oops, I have used the wrong term thinking OP meant operating procedures. Of course it is referring to OlympianProducts.

I meant to say:

Yes, we care about [TOS] after all. One of your very significant moderators [OP] loves to get on there and make sure it's all legit

Mueller Report

Ukrainegate/ Impeachment Report
https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/6566093-House-impeachment-report-PDF.html

Your efforts to define these heavy-hitting investigations as "fake news" or somehow equivalent to the Trump team's "voter fraud" legal flailing doesn't make it so.

I've been watching these "voter fraud" cases closely, since they're fascinating. The tl;dr summary is Trump's lawyers are dying on their asses out there. They lack the evidence to get even minimal requests in the range of 50 ballots thrown out, let alone overturning the tens of thousands across multiple states they'd need to have a prayer.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/trump-election-results-lawsuits-don-t-have-a-lot-of-good-evidence/ar-BB1aXiCX?ocid=msedgntp

And I don't think we've seen the last of Ukrainegate yet -- since the subpoenaed documents are still out there (unless Trump & Co. have shredded or scrubbed them), and the key witnesses who refused to testify in front of Congress are all still alive.

Here's a sampling of the legal hell coming Trump's way, more to follow no doubt.

If you want to talk about Trump policies here or air your opinion that he did a good job as President, or that any Republican did a good job, that’s fine.

However: insisting that Trump actually won the 2020 election or that it was riddled by systemic fraud that has yet to even remotely be proven and therefore that the result of the Presidential election (but not the House or Senate or state-level races) ought to be cancelled, or whatever the heck they are claiming these days to try to give Trump a second term, is a bridge too far.

In democracies, we make our best arguments, we have elections, and then we respect the result, come together, and move on, mindful that the next election is right around the corner and we’ll get another shot.

That’s how it’s always worked in this country.

I’m insisting on a basic commitment to process here.

but the democrats insisted Hillary actually won the 2016 election, what makes this different?
3 ups, 3y,

Hillary Clinton picked up the phone and conceded to Trump at about 2 a.m. on Election Night.

Even though the margins in the states she lost were about as close as the margins we saw Trump lose by in 2020, she didn’t refuse to concede, drag out the process, file multiple lawsuits, or make baseless claims about systemic fraud.

The idea HRC or Democrats in general didn’t “accept” the results of the 2016 election is just false.

Many liberals *have* rightly pointed out the big discrepancy between the popular vote and the Electoral College, but this is a separate argument about representativeness in our system, and an argument in favor of reform going forward.

so question, would u allow posts in this stream saying trump cheated in 2016?
3 ups, 3y,
1 reply
I would permit reality-based commentary based on the findings of the Mueller Report. Which actually did not find any proof that Trump himself “cheated.”

https://www.justice.gov/storage/report.pdf

However, it recounted attempted collusion by other members of Trump’s campaign and resulted in the indictment and conviction of several Trump associates.

Outside the scope of this, I would not permit wild allegations that Trump cheated in ‘16.

so u would allow whats based in reality, so does any allegations abt biden cheating land in reality in ur opinion? because whats based in reality is subjective here.

If there are real substantive court cases and judgments against him and such, feel free to discuss — but I’m inherently distrustful of right-wing rumors about Biden since so many of them have turned out to be false.

I’ve always insisted there is a path for Republicans back to, if not to full agreement with liberals, then at least decency.

It wasn’t even that long ago: John McCain, Mitt Romney. These were both decent men.

George W. Bush was almost too much of a colossal f**k-up as President due to the Iraq War lies but I will count him anyway as a decent guy thanks to his 9/11 leadership and making the point again and again that Muslims at large are not terrorists.

Reagan whom I referenced in a meme above certainly can be faulted for ushering in “Reaganism” and his comments about welfare recipients and turning a blind eye to the AIDS crisis, but one thing he did that Trump would never do in a million years is he got on national TV and not only acknowledged but apologized(!) for the Iran-Contra scandal.

George H.W. whom I reference in this meme here did a fantastic job building alliances for the Persian Gulf War, and managing the collapse of the USSR without that part of the world spiraling out of control. He’s remembered by all who worked with him regardless of party as a professional.

I want to help foster a return to that kind of bipartisanship and that means accommodating some but not all commentary from Trump supporters.

What happened here
1 up, 3y
Great question!

Reason being: A roleplay stream committed to modeling democracy is not going to waste time platforming Trump and his goonies’ self-serving nonsense that undermines it in the real world.

There is a greater likelihood they all get prosecuted and go to jail than they succeed in securing “a smooth transition to a second Trump Administration” as Pompeo put it.

The main thing preventing such an outcome is the fact Trump still retains his own power of the pardon and I’m sure he plans to use it judiciously on his way out the door.

Can Trump use the pardon power on himself as he’s claimed he can? Will he step down 5 minutes before his term is up and hope Pence does it for him?

Stay tuned.
