I support ending the Electoral College because then it would mean that we get Presidents that the majority of the country actually wants.
Every other democracy in the world does this; we’re the only one where the popular vote loser can win.
It’s a recipe for polarization and division and plain old incompetent government — as we saw in both 2000 and 2016.
Of course this will never happen because a rural-based Republican Party will cling to this electoral handicap for dear life, but in an ideal world, it would.
