& there are books by former nazis about realizing how wrong they were. Matter of fact, a guy named Alfons Heck was a teenage nazi leader, & after the war, he realized what was actually happening. He later met w/ a Jewish woman 2 publicly explain the Nazi war, from the Jewish side & the unknowing nazi side.
Hitler knew rage could blind ppl.
And a certain city’s mayor & his wife killed themselves after the war when they saw what the nazis did to Jews.

Ik a lot of history b/c they say those who don’t know their history are doomed to repeat it.
I think what’s interesting is that whenever these dictatorships grow, kids always feel elevated by them, even though it causes headaches & complications, & then they wake up once it’s over. I’ve seen books from survivors of WWII & the Cultural Revolution about this very thing. It seems to be a pattern. That’s one of the reasons it breaks my heart 2 see kids fall for socialism.
And in the CR they literally legally broke kids from their families. There’s a lot of sad things they did, but someone who survived the CR said they nvr questioned Zedong thru all the headaches b/c he basically was God to them; infallible and incapable of being wrong. They said ppl woke up after his death in ‘76.
